JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Electrical Technician II performs general, advanced and professional grade high-and low-voltage electrical maintenance in company-owned commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. This position will install and repair various electrical systems and components, coordinate repairs with supervisors, other Facilities Electrical Technicians, or vendors.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to include High Visibility clothing. 
  2. Perform general electrical maintenance in buildings, grounds and facilities.
  3. Operate various maintenance equipment, including but not limited to: hand/power tools, aerial lifts, telehandlers, skid steers, forklifts and any associated equipment. 
  4. Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  5. Comply with company safety policies and procedures, including using the lock-out/tag-out system before performing maintenance work.  
  6. Perform monthly electrical inspections and maintain the required documentation. 
  7. Diagnose problems and implement solutions.
  8. Work with other Facilities Electrical Technicians as assigned by supervisor.
  9. Assist with stocking, unloading and delivering supplies. 
  10. Assist with maintaining property security. 
  11. Document repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.  
  12. Maintain equipment and tools essential to accomplishing daily tasks.
  13. Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Electrical Journeyman License or one of the following:
    • At least three years of commercial/industrial electrical field experience
    • At least four years of residential electrical field experience
  • Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the principles and techniques with electrical and associated trades.
  • Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical system components and control systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

 

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Course work or other trades training
  • Ability to operate a scissor lift, telehandler manlift, excavator, skid steer, welder and forklift

 

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid Class C driver’s license
  • Safe driving for the last three years
