Role
As the Assembly Technician III, one is responsible for the in-process inspection and testing, handling, storage, receiving, calibrations, scheduling, and shipping of equipment flowing through the assembly shop.
The job duties herein describe essential functions of the position. Additionally, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the position. The individual should be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations.
Essential Functions
Has ability to perform following duties in the valve assembly department. Duties include Assembly of selected product lines, Lapping, Testing, Charging, Silicone Insertion, Ageing, Squeezing, Polishing, Leak Checking, and preparing equipment for assembly.
Assembles and tests assemblies according to company specifications. Master basic skills and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise.
Assists others during assembly of components in area of expertise. Teaches other assemblers’ proper techniques and procedures.
Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers more complex issues to higher levels.
Uses material handling equipment to move parts, components and subassemblies from one work or storage area to another as required.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping in work area.
Maintain acceptable reject, scrap rates, and production rates.
Identify problems and be able to correct most of them with little assistance.
Maintain proper maintenance of machine, equipment and facilities and keep in proper condition.
Follow all oral and written instruction correctly.
Responsible for recording all labor hours with time system accurately.
Responsible for cleaning tools and area prior to leaving each day.
May be responsible for assembling, soldering, or welding components.
Qualifications & Requirements
High School Degree or GED
2 years related experience technical, vocational, or mechanical field or approved by manager’s verification.
Skills, Abilities & Work Style
Ability to comprehend more complex engineering and weld blueprints and be able to understand written Engineering procedures.
Ability to operate High Pressure Test Unit, Jib Cranes, and Forklifts.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as, calipers and pressure gauges.
Ability to use proper measuring tools to perform quality inspections.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Ability to move or transfer products on push carts. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
Eye Exam: Ishihara Color Blindness & FAA Acuity Exam
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
