POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for laying out and welding structural steel in order to build metal structures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welds and cuts black carbon and galvanized steel, interprets blueprints
• Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, etc
• Ability to operate and/or willingness to learn operation of basic shop machinery
• Ensure product is manufactured according to print
• Must keep area neat and clean in accordance with 6S leadership and standards/goals
• Adheres and comply with all company safety requirements

ATTRIBUTES

• Read and understand schematics and blueprints
• Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (Lbs., Ft. Inch.)
• Operating Vehicles, Mechanical Devices or Equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
• Previous professional welding experience
• Fundamental understanding of various weld processes and welding machinery
• Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols
• Ability to comfortably lift 50 pounds repeatedly and overhead
