POSITION SUMMARY

This position will clean, grind, polish and perform all types of metal finishing work on stainless steel by hand or using handheld power tools. May require TIG welding.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and Polish stainless-steel slides and other products
• Grinds, files, or sands surfaces of metal items, specifically stainless-steel slides, but may work on other products or metals
• May require TIG welding
• Will use hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of metal finishing techniques: Examines and feels surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents, scratches, or breaks in metal.
• Removes dents, using hammer and dolly block, and fills uneven surface with molten solder.
• Smooths surface of item to specified finish, using hand tools and powered tools.
• May polish metal surface, using powered polishing wheel or belt.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must Have knowledge of Finishes #2, #3, and mirror finish.
• TIG Welding experience preferred.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• 5 to 7 years of prior experience as a Stainless Steel Finisher in any industry.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis.
• Must pass a skills and quality test prior to hiring.
