Plant & Shop Helper

 The Plant & Shop Helper supports daily operations in both the plant and shop by assisting with production tasks, material handling, equipment operation, and basic welding or fabrication work. This role requires versatility, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment. 

• Assist with plant production tasks, including operating basic equipment, loading/unloading materials, and supporting machine operators.
• Perform general shop duties such as cutting, prepping, fitting, and assembling materials.
• Complete basic welding tasks (e.g., tack welds, small repairs, simple fabrication) as directed by supervisors.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in both the plant and shop.
• Move, lift, and stage materials using hand tools or equipment (forklift/pallet jack if certified).
• Support maintenance tasks such as cleaning machinery, organizing parts, and assisting technicians.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Assist with inventory tracking, restocking supplies, and preparing materials for production runs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant and shop operations.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of welding experience (MIG, stick, or other applicable processes).
•  Ability to read basic measurements and use hand/power tools.
• Experience in a plant, shop, or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn new tasks.
• Commitment to following all safety rules and procedures.
