The MIG Welder Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and welding components used in production, ensuring all work meets drawing specifications, safety protocols, approved weld procedures, and quality assurance standards. This role requires technical skill, precision, and a strong focus on safety and detail.

Roles & Responsibilities

1.     Fit and weld complex assemblies in accordance with standard work and blueprints.

2.     Consistently perform quality welds using GTAW processes in positions 1F through 4F.

3.     Safely and effectively operate various hand and air tools, including die grinders, angle grinders, drills, skill saws, and gouging equipment.

4.     Maintain close attention to precision measurements and fabrication details to ensure high-quality results.

5.     Demonstrate quality-at-source practices by self-inspecting work and maintaining high standards throughout the fabrication process.

6.     Safely perform complex crane lifts as required by the job.

7.     Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Education & Experience

    Minimum of 2 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

    Completion of a Welding Certificate program an asset.

    CWB certification or C-Ticket (or higher) is considered a strong asset.

Specific Skills

    Proficiency in various welding techniques, including TIG and MIG

    Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX

    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications

    Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

    Familiarity with different types of welding equipment and tools

    Basic understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment processes

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

    Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

    Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required

    Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials, working in various positions and environments

    Ability to lift 50lbs and possess manual dexterity
