Metal Fabricator

Position Summary

Apex Sign Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and preparing metal components used in the production of high-quality signage and custom sign structures. The ideal candidate will have experience working with metal fabrication tools and equipment, be detail-oriented, and take pride in producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
• Measure, cut, bend, grind, drill, and assemble metal materials to required dimensions.
• Fabricate metal frames, sign cabinets, supports, brackets, and other custom components.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, shears, brakes, punches, grinders, and related shop tools.
• Perform MIG, TIG, or other welding tasks as needed based on project requirements.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to production standards.
• Work closely with production, welding, paint, and installation teams to meet project timelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and manufacturing standards.
• Assist with material handling, staging, and other shop duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing, construction, or production environment preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting shop drawings and blueprints.
• Working knowledge of fabrication tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math and measurement skills required.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines.
• Sign manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with aluminum, steel, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Welding experience, including MIG and TIG welding.
• Familiarity with signage, custom fabrication, or architectural metalwork.
• Forklift or material handling experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and production shop environment and may be exposed to noise, dust, sharp materials, and heavy equipment. Proper safety gear and adherence to company safety protocols are required at all times.
