  • Assists in repair of all departmental equipment and vehicles.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Conducts road tests on repaired equipment and vehicles.
  • Inventories and orders parts as needed.
  • Performs minor welding projects as needed.
  • Instructs and/or assists other employees with their duties.
  • Maintains records of repairs and maintenance preformed.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2 years experience as Mechanic or Mechanic Helper.
  • Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
  • Good interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with other employees and elected officials.
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Mechanic certification may be required.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $20.10 - $25.13 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
