MECHANIC | ASSET ASSISTANT

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Mechanic | Asset Assistant is needed to maintain the safety and productivity of the company vehicles and equipment.  The Mechanic performs mechanical duties as needed in maintaining and repairing field equipment including engines, compressors, pumps, vehicles and other items of equipment in an expeditious and correct manner.    The quality of his/her work directly influences customer satisfaction.                  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Take instruction and delegate work to shop hands as necessary

• Distribute parts and keep a parts inventory
• Diagnose problems to repair and rebuild equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Performs basic electrical, plumbing, fabrication, and welding work 
• Trouble shooting and problem solving skills
• Conducts vehicle inspections
• Conducts service calls to the field to repair and maintain equipment
• Drives company vehicles, must be insurable by company vehicle insurance policy
• Completes all departmental paperwork
• Operates forklift
• Follows and supports all safety policies and procedures established by the company
• Knows and uses all appropriate PPE at all times
• Performs other duties as requested by management
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
• Must be able to communicate with co-workers and management effectively
• 5 years mechanical experience preferred
• Own tools preferred
• Mechanic School Certification and/or ASE Certification is preferred

$18-$25 Hourly depending on experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to humid and outside weather conditions.
 The job activities will require the employee to work in a shop/warehouse environment and/or at customer job site locations. On an as needed basis, the employee may be assigned to support field services on a drilling rig. The employee will be required to be able to drive all categories of trucks up to and including trucks requiring a Class C Commercial Driving License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift/carry 140 lbs. frequently floor to knuckle and floor to shoulder. 

Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
