RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain plant equipment, records of equipment PM and repairs and spare parts inventory to minimize cost and downtime.
• Become proficient in the operation of plant equipment.
• Assist in training plant employees in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Maximize productivity through maintaining current preventative maintenance programs.
• Actively participate in the plant safety and quality program.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in all aspects of day to day maintenance of the plant.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekend work as assigned.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

35% Maintain optimum functionality for all plant equipment and systems by performing inspections, completing predictive and preventive maintenance measures (including data entry), repairing and modifying equipment and systems.
25% Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment utilized by facility; determine immediate and long range needs for maintenance and repair work. Enter work orders utilizing maintenance computer program.
20% Operate safely within Friedman's policy's, procedures, and governmental regulations and fully participate in Friedman's Safety programs (BBS, EHS Audits, Monthly Safety Inspections, etc.).
15% Complete all housekeeping assignments, work to improve the condition of all facility departments, and work as a team member with a positive attitude.
5% Work extended shifts, as necessary, including weekends and holidays, and take call-ins to make repairs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to the basic use of and measuring of instruments/precision tools,
fasteners, piping/fittings & valves, cutting and welding, packing/sealing/gasket products,
rotating shaft components and rigging.
• Ability to work 8 hour shifts and extended shifts, including week-ends, holidays and on-call.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions as needed.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good attendance record, communication skills and work ethic.
