Cylinder Processor - Laboratory Technician
· Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments (GCs, FTIRs, process analyzers, scales, vacuum pumps, compressors, etc.).
· Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing on pure and mixed gases, raw materials, and production samples per SOPs, GMPs, and FDA requirements.
· Determine pass/fail status of samples and verify mixtures meet customer specifications.
· Troubleshoot analytical issues and assist with repairs.
· Support investigations of non-conforming product and assist Quality in defect resolution.
· Generate and maintain calibration records, test data, and QC documentation (electronic and hard copy).
· Produce Certificates of Analysis and product labels based on verified results.
· Complete and maintain FDA medical gas paperwork and assist in evaluating medical gases for release.
· Inspect cylinders before and after filling (visual, odor, physical, safety checks).
· Fill cylinders by pressure or weight according to specifications and regulatory standards.
· Create specialty gas mixes and perform mixture calculations as required.
· Operate pumps, compressors, and high-precision scales for filling operations.
· Verify cylinder quantities, product type, and specifications.
· Coordinate analytical tests to ensure mixtures meet requirements prior to release.
· Load, unload, and move cylinders using material-handling equipment (including forklift).
· Review orders, pull inventory, and prepare items for shipment or delivery.
· Process warehouse transfers and maintain accurate inventory records in the system.
· Input analytical and production data accurately into lab and plant logs.
· Download and process gas orders in the plant tracking system daily.
· Process all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
· Strictly adhere to safety policies, including PPE requirements, HWP, and LOTO procedures.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory and company quality requirements.
· Maintain a clean, organized work area.
· Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED is required
Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
2+ years’ experience working in industrial lab environment preferred
Industrial/Specialty Gas experience is preferred
Ability to support the department towards defined production and quality goals as well as an accelerated continuous improvement program
Computer literacy and Proficiency with Microsoft Office
