JOB SUMMARY

Estimator is responsible for establishing the cost per part, production and assembly methods, tools and equipment required to service the customer and provide the company with fair profit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes professional and friendly communication with all customers (internal and external)
  • Analyzes drawings, specifications, proposals, and other customer provided documentation to determine manufacturing suitability
  • Assess quality expectation of customer and incorporates quality requirements in the cost per part
  • Prepare part cost based upon routings, set up times, tooling requirements, BOM and labor costs for products, projects, and services
  • Where appropriate, suggest changes to facilitate ease of manufacture and/or reduce costs
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)

  • At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college, or 1-3 years experience 
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings, weld symbols, and understand print tolerances.
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze models with CAD software.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED):

  • Experience in metal stamping and/or light fabrication via lasers, press brakes, and robotic welding.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: 

While this role is primarily salaried and may include office or administrative work, it also requires periodic presence on the production floor. As such, the following physical requirements apply during those times:

  • Occasional walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and lifting during floor presence
  • Able to occasionally walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist, and lift during shifts spent on the floor
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled and noisy environment when on the production floor
  • Occasional overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
  • Able to wear and tolerate required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including apparel and safety devices
  • Visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient for reading documents, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, labels, and other work-related materials
