Key Responsibilities:
• Promote safety culture through leadership and by developing and championing safety programs.
• Manage safety programs for the site, including coordination with corporate.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate Document Control efforts.
• Guide, supervise, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
Accountable For:
• Develop and implement engaging safety training programs for new hires and existing employees to promote a cultural shift toward safety awareness and accountability.
• Design and maintain comprehensive safety management programs (SMP), ensuring compliance and accountability at all levels of the organization.
• Drive the digitization of incident reporting processes, making it easier to track, analyze, and address safety issues effectively.
• Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage and mitigate risks by developing practical strategies to reduce hazards and maintain a safer work environment.
• Drive digitization efforts and utilize data analysis to identify trends and proactively address safety concerns.
• Creating a positive work environment and promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, constant compliance, and operational excellence.
• Regular communication and collaboration with senior management and other departments regarding laws, regulations, and issues that impact the plant.
• Leading safety programs at the site, including corporate programs, providing training material and understanding how regulation changes impact the plant.
• Ensuring environmental policy manuals, safety data sheets, and compliance processes comply with new and amended regulations.
• Maintaining and posting quarterly updates of facility maps and fire and evacuation plans.
• Driving and reinforcing safety culture by conducting weekly GEMBA Walk inspections.
• Investigating accidents, documenting findings, and recommending prevention measures.
• Scheduling and conducting training programs for emergency procedures and workplace safety.
• Maintaining employee exposure records for easy accessibility and regulatory compliance.
• Serving as a point of contact and responding to all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
• Assisting with preparing the site and EHS records for audit readiness.
• Assisting with fire, mock disaster, and product recall drills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None
Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or related field required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in EHS&Q, light industrial, salt, food industry, purchasing, and packaging.
• Strong working knowledge of bulk solids handling equipment in corrosive environments.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
• High proficiency in SAP or other compliance ERP software.
• Prior packaging plant experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with MS Dynamics
• Maintenance & Reliability experience
• Certifications such as Lean Sigma, Six Sigma, HAACP, SQF, CSP = Certified Safety Professional, ASP = Associate Safety Professional and JIT
Physical Requirements:
• Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Constantly required standing, walking, handling, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Constantly use the wrist, hands, and fingers to manipulate small objects and write legibly.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Constantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Occasionally remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another, including tight and confined spaces.
• Occasionally operate machinery or power tools.
• Occasionally operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, trucks, pedals, buttons, levers, and cranks.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
• Occasional exposure to noisy environments.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions (high traffic/hoisting/lifting/welding/electricity).
• Occasional exposure to small or enclosed spaces.
• Occasional exposure to adverse environmental conditions is expected (rain, heat, and dust)
• Occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Hearing abilities include hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech or other sounds (e.g., in person, by telephone, and other remote devices, machinery alarms, or warning signals).
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Constantly wear or use prescribed protective equipment while working.
• Constantly able to move throughout the facility and warehouse, which includes stairs.
• Occasional travel – up to 10%.
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-Hour Shift
