As a welder, you are responsible for cutting and joining mild or stainless, and other materials, and equipment operation for assembly of structures. 

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in all safe start meetings.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Follow 5S standards to maintain work area.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications
  • Setup and align components for welding according to specifications
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Operate angle grinders and other tools necessary to prepare the surface to be welded.
  • Complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, & License Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Related degree from a technical college, a plus
  • 1 year of proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment, or internship while attending technical college

Skills & Abilities

  • Steady hands and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Basic welding and metal terminology.
  • Endurance and dexterity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Average proficiency in mathematics
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to read a tape measure
