Position Summary

The TIG Welder is responsible for fitting, joining, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Work scheduled hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (subject to change based on production needs)
• Perform welding duties using TIG welding equipment
• Weld steel components based on layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions
• Assist in welding multi-component parts
• Operate forklifts, hoists, hand and power tools, slings, grinders, and cutting torches as needed
• Inspect and correct welds to meet product specifications
• Read and interpret job orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings
• Cross-train and support additional job functions as needed
• Communicate with management regarding assignments, quality concerns, or production issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment
• Follow all safety procedures before and during operations

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
• Ability to read tape measures and calipers
• Forklift operation experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Basic shop math skills, including fraction-to-decimal conversion
• Strong attention to quality and accuracy
• Ability to adapt to change
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Reliable attendance

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials
• Frequent squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, and reaching
• Standing and walking for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day, up to 6 days per week)
• Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Fast-paced industrial setting requiring appropriate protective equipment
