Position Summary
We are seeking a bilingual Advanced Technician to lead rack refurbishment projects and operate CNC equipment (laser and plasma). This is an advanced technical role with leadership responsibilities over a small team, including repair, fabrication, and CNC operations to support the entire production floor.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and train a small team (approximately three assistants) assigned to rack refurbishment and CNC cutting tasks.
• Review engineering drawings to determine repair requirements, materials, and processes.
• Plan and execute rack maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.3, DFT, and internal quality standards.
• Program and operate laser and plasma cutting tables for replacement parts and production runs.
• Coordinate material usage, maintain inventory levels, and ensure proper handling of consumables and tools.
• Track and report KPIs including repaired racks, scrap, productivity, and costs.
• Enforce and model safety standards (OSHA/EPP) across the team.
• Operate forklifts for material handling and ensure safe storage/transport of components.
• Support production operations when no refurbishment work is pending.
Required Qualifications
• Authorization to work in the United States (valid work permit or status required).
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial or metal fabrication settings.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with MIG/Flux welding, AWS D1.1/D1.3 standards, and DFT verification.
• Experience programming and operating CNC laser and plasma cutting tables.
• Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• OSHA training and AWS certifications preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in environments with heat, dust, or noise.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to train, coordinate, and lead others.
Physical Requirements
• Regular lifting, bending, and material handling.
• Standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Consistent use of PPE as required by OSHA standards.
Compensation & Benefits
• Starting pay: $23.00 per hour (W-2 employment).
