POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the Maintenance department in installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Under minimal supervision, performs specifically assigned tasks only as instructed, subject to regular check of performance, as necessary.
EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, and/or LICENSES:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. One year certificate or equivalent from college or technical school in Mechanical or related field.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS and/or PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
General warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is provided with and required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment when performing these duties. The employee is also frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is also occasionally exposed to risk of electric shock. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
