We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic/Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trailers and semi-trailers to ensure they are safe, reliable, and compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working with commercial trailers and be comfortable performing mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs using specialized tools and welding equipment. This role includes servicing equipment such as Fruehauf, Morgan, and Stoughton trailers. Pay can go up to $26/hour (DOE) and overtime available.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough inspections of heavy-duty trailers to ensure compliance with DOT standards and company safety requirements.

Diagnose and repair air brake systems and brake components.

Troubleshoot and repair ABS (Anti-Lock Braking Systems).

Repair and maintain landing gear, suspension systems, and air systems.

Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including trailer lighting and wiring.

Perform body and structural repairs, including floors, roofs, side panels, and other trailer components.

Conduct welding and fabrication using stick and MIG welding processes.

Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized mechanical equipment to complete repairs.

Maintain accurate service records and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.

Follow all workplace safety guidelines and procedures.
Requirements:

Experience working on heavy-duty trailers or similar commercial equipment.

Ability to Stick weld and MIG weld.
-
Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Must have basic hand tools and a toolbox.

Ability to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screening.
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience servicing Fruehauf, Morgan, or Stoughton trailers.

Familiarity with DOT inspection requirements.
