The Maintenance Mechanical Planner is responsible and accountable for gathering basic data on the various work packages (e.g., drawings, specifications, plant standards), specifying tasks and providing all supporting documentation such as specifications of welding and pressure test procedures. The position will be responsible for performing task walk downs, reviewing work orders, estimating/tracking labor hours associated with turnaround tasks, developing work plans, material take offs, and tracking turnaround timeline activities against schedule. This person must have the ability to produce reports, statistical analysis, and other data through use of common software programs such as Excel and other company and client databases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included but are not limited to the following:
· Coordinate the development of the work scope received from all departments such as operations, inspection, projects, and maintenance.
· Manage work order backlog.
· Ensure work package is compliant with the work order and planning processes.
· Field review scope of work and develop job steps and requirements for craft and man hours for each submitted work request.
· Assist in the development of the material list, specifying quantity, size, and material codes for all material required for the approved scope.
· Coordinate with the Material Coordinator in the timely purchase and delivery of materials as per the schedule.
· Obtain technical input from engineering where required.
· Work with the field supervisor in the development of mobile lifting equipment and other specialized tooling required for the approved work scope.
· Review scope with the appropriate supervisors to understand safety, health, and environmental considerations.
· Plan and prepare work packages, which include the job steps, drawing and sketches, material, equipment, and tool requirements, testing procedures and manpower requirements.
· Prepare subcontractor work packages for the bid process and/or work execution.
· Inform the HSE Supervisors of work involving asbestos insulation, lead-based paint, sandblasting, benzene, etc.
· Work with operations personnel to incorporate detailed plans for the isolation and LOTO required to perform the work scope.
· Identify outside services or equipment required and assists in the procurement of services or equipment if needed.
· Work with field coordinators and supervisors to update the schedule progress.
· Ensure that all scope growth, added work requests, and changes are incorporated into the plan and scheduled on a timely basis.
· Participate in daily and weekly planning and scheduling meetings
· High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Computer proficiency for communications, failure analysis, and maintenance system's Strong ability for effective problem solving
· Ability to read drawings, P&ID, Isometric, Schematics, etc.
· Multi-task oriented with good organizational skills and can work in a team environment
· Strong ability for effective problem solving
· Experience with maintenance, manufacturing, and processing areas of an industrial maintenance environment
· Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products especially Excel
· Ability to produce reports, statistical analysis, and other data through use of common software programs such as Excel and other company and client databases including SAP and Maximo
· Supervisory experience, craft experience in Millwright, Boilermaker, Rigging, or Pipefitting preferred
· NCCER Plus certification in Millwright, Boilermaker, Rigging or Pipefitting preferred
· Previous Zachry or JVIC experience preferred
