As a Lab Technician, you’ll work directly with pilot-scale chemical systems—building, operating, and troubleshooting the kinds of processes that drive major innovations in the chemical and petroleum industries.
Job Summary
Support the construction, operation, and maintenance of chemical processing systems and pilot-scale equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work environment, managing parts and equipment inventories, and preparing requisitions for preventive maintenance. Assist in assembling and operating chemical pilot plant systems involving pipe and tubing connections, AC/DC-powered instruments, and related equipment. Provide operational support for complex small-scale chemical and petroleum processes. Additional duties include maintaining equipment and vehicles, installing or removing insulation, delivering materials, and assisting with welding, cutting, wiring, and interpreting drawings. Record operational data in logbooks, communicate updates to other shifts, perform analytical testing using a gas chromatograph, and oversee chemical and equipment inventory control.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Practical experience with mechanical and electrical systems.

Proficient with a variety of hand and power tools.

Experience working with chemicals or chemical processes (e.g., distillation) preferred.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Computer proficiency, including Excel and Word.

Ability to work rotating 24/7 shifts.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
