About the Role
We’re looking for a highly capable Engineering Technician to help bring our robots to life. You’ll be responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting across various sub-systems — from drive components to electrical panels and robot arms. You'll work hands-on with tools and equipment in our full fabrication shop and play a key role in building systems from the ground up.
Job Responsibilities
Perform mechanical assembly of drive systems, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and electrical panels.
Build and wire electrical panels, including component installation and electrical connections
Route cables, wiring, and pneumatic lines with attention to workmanship quality.
Configuration of subsystems including PLC, computers, sensors, cameras and motor drivers.
Execute functional tests of the full robotic system to confirm the robot is built to engineering requirements.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related system issues
Operate shop tools and equipment such as CNC plasma cutters, press brakes, welders, mills, band saws, and hand tools
Follow engineering documentation and work closely with the manufacturing lead and engineering team
Qualification/Requirements
Required:
Associate’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or related field
3+ years of manufacturing experience in a professional work environment.
Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly skills
Familiarity with control panels, wiring schematics, and cable management
Comfortable using shop equipment and power tools
Ability to troubleshoot integrated systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to work hands-on to build robot prototypes and early production robots
Preferred:
Experience with robotics or industrial robotic automation systems.
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) and configuring cameras/sensors is a plus
Familiar with Mechanical CAD Assembly Tools (SOLIDWORKS Preferred)
