The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the maintenance systems, preventative maintenance systems, fleet maintenance, and equipment upgrades.  This is a hands-on position that requires performing all necessary maintenance and installation duties. Will be responsible for hourly maintenance staff and their activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee employees and carryout supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  2. Ensures safety huddles, stretching and safety policies are followed and a safe and clean atmosphere is maintained to 5S standards.
  3. Organizes, supervises, leads, and ensures employees are trained to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.
  4. Lead, plan, and schedule team’s daily functions. Ensure that tasks are completed safely, timely, and properly the first time.
  5. Perform routine and major repairs and maintenance, troubleshooting activities and preventative maintenance to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment including batch plant, conveyors, form equipment, and all power units and controls associated with heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.
  6. Monitor all areas for compliance with company safety and state environmental regulations.
  7. Set up equipment for scheduled production. Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  8. Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  9. Responsible to ensure performance of machinist duties and responsibilities.
  10. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, plant facilities and mobile fleet.
  11. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  12. Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Experience, Education & License Requirements:

  •  High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing facility and mobile maintenance required.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to provide technical information to outside vendors
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Suite (i.e. Excel)
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, welding, and industrial skills with some PLC experience
  • Must be able to read schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and solve electronic or mechanical issues.  
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals.
  • Must be an organized, self-starter and motivated to create a proactive environment.
  • Ability to train and motivate other maintenance team members.
